A blonde haired yellow eyed man sits uppon a boat leaning against a stump where a mast should be and a yellow eye flag lazily hanging attached to a section of the wood. This man was the one known as yellow eye, for quite obvious reasons, but his actual name was Sumaru and was viewed as a jack of all trades.
Sumaru sits against the stump flicking seeds into his mouth, quite a strange thing to be doing but this was normal for him. The boat called the fortress was simple suporting several crossbows, surprisingly unloaded. The boat was an ex-marine vessel and would be recognised by those of a trained eye but it had been repaired so many times everything marine about it had almost vanished.
Sumaru today had became bored being on land, he collected a couple of bounties simply to keep his funding up. As usual the marines talked to him like an old friend but this young man had no affiliation with them any longer. But thats besides the point Sumaru was so bored he had sat there for a few hours eating seeds, he would of read something but everything onboard was now somewhat tattered from overuse. He sighs deeply as he looks from the land to see wondering what the next plan of action would be

Kant, a man who did very little, was doing just that. He had gathered his coat and hat to venture out into the real world. While normally venturing where many people were all at once was a dreadful experience, Kant had always rather enjoyed his trip to the docks. The fish he bought there was the best avalible, and as far as Kant knew, fishers liked the company of people almost as little as Kant did, so interactions were excellently minimal and simple. A nice "that fish" with an exchange of cash would have Kant on his way, he hoped.
Unfortunately for him, Kant saw something that made him curious. There was a yellow-haired ruffian sitting on his "boat" and munching on some seeds. The mast was nonexistent save for a small stump of wood, of which that same yellow-haired fellow leaned against. Marines smiled and waved to him, seeming to know him from the past. The friendliness did not seem strictly mutual, as though if the yellow-haired man had been in the marines earlier in his life.
Kant's laziness was matched exclusively by his curiousity, and after a small mental debate, he wandered over to the ship and looked it over. It was clearly a former marine ship, but Kant said nothing of that. "It looks like you're missing a part." he said instead. It was at that time the color of the man's hair extended to his eyes, and the yellow-haired man was more suited to being called a "yellow-eyed" man.

Sumaru pauses uppon being addressed and his hand stops and his fingers essentally fondel a seed as his head rolls to the side to look at the guy who had spoke to him. Sumaru was startled at being addressed by a non marine, although he simply was assosiated with his now deceased mother, but it definatly was a rare event. One would think that his appearance was enough to be addressed but this simply turned heads the majority of the time. He was aware that his boat was smaller than the average ship but still bigger than some vessels and that it was easily looked into from most docks but Sumaru still was startled to be addressed
His yellow eyes appear to pierce deep into the man as his gaze settles uppon him and his lips barly move as this fingers couress the seeds. "What ya meen ive a part missing" he says in responce to what he found as an unusual remark. Of course Sumaru didnt put much thought into his boat missing it's mast so naturally didnt have a clue what was being refered to.

Kant raised an eyebrow, displaying his commonplace silence as he looked over the ship. He seemed to ignore what the man had said, instead inviting himself aboard to look it over further. He stepped on to the ship without a word of warning, walking past Sumaru to look over the edge of the ship and examine it. It sat in the water nice enough, and seemed to be a sturdy ship.
"You a pirate or something?" Kant asked, breaking the quietness he had displayed as he looked around the ship. His eyes gathered information as usual, but before long he had stepped back onto the docks. "Pirate ships only go places when they have a mast. Since your ship has no mast, I can only imagine you have some kind of special power to make it move, like a Devil Fruit. Devil Fruit powers are all too common fr pirates these days."
Kant went silent again, reaching in his pocket and withdrawing a pocket watch. He checked the time, clicked his tongue and replaced the watch, opening his mouth again to speak. "But no, you're no pirate. If anything, you're an ex-marine gone freelance. You were just a bit to good for the marines in your own mind, and now you work alone."
It was only now that Kant remained quiet until his conversation partner replied. Kant was curious to see how accurate his guess had been.

Sumaru dosnt protest as the guy comes aboard, infact he didnt seam to care at all. He now could view the full heightbof this guy and he was rather tall. Listening to what he had to say Sumaru laughs "Actually ya arnt far off, I was born to the marines and raised by marines, somewhat a pain but never the less" he remarks as he relaises his mast was currently a stump.
With a smile on his face he continues to speek "i am not a pirate, marine or a bounty hunter, my services go to the highest bidder or any who might happen to be traveling with me" uppon finishing his statement he slaps the stump quickly and it springs up, looking mechanical but producing a full mast.
He leans forward placing his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands "well trust your observation uppon deciding if im a devil fruit user or not... By the way whats your name stranger? I am Sumaru, better known accross the waves as yellow eye" sumaru finishes speeking and awaits for this garguntian figure of a man to respond to his somewhat cryptic reply. Not many knew of sumaru's devil fruit power and the majority who did can no longer speek. Although he was being rather cryptic his natural friendliness seeps through

Kant watched the man display his power on the mast, licking his lips at the display of power. It was curious, some sort of odd mast. Seeds, the man was eating seeds. Perhaps it was some devil fruit to do with plants. While he would've liked to think further on this, Kant's mind was interrupted when the man introduced himself. He called himself Sumaru, and was called "Yellow-Eye" by others. Kant huffed, suppressing a laugh. His nickname for Sumaru had been almost identical.
"I am Mauliwell Brooks, called 'Kant' by the locals and 'Sour Brooks' by people who want me dead. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sumaru." Kant said, extending a hand for a handshake.

Sumaru extends his hand also to take Kant's. He flicks the seed he had been fondling into his mouth clearly swallowing ir whole as he speeks, "pleasure is mine Kant", choosing to call him Kant as it seamed to be the least of a mouthful to say besides simply calling him Brooks. He looks at Kant for a moment then realising those with most knowledge of devil fruits are those who wield their power, but ignoring this for now he has a more pressing concern.
"Say Kant, how about ya join me on this humble little boat, along with health benifits and a plentiful supply of fresh food" Sumaru says even though it would probobly be seen as a redicously difficult task to keep food fresh out on the open sea. "I would simply ask one thing and even that isnt exacly difficult" he finishes for the moment hoping to strike a bit of curiosity. It had been some time since Sumaru had anyone acompany him on this boat named the fortress, and he liked that Kant would step on it so freely so Sumaru simply had to ask.

Kant raised an eyebrow, and withdrew his hand. "That's a bold offer to make a man you just met, Sumaru. What if I turned around, back stabbed you and stole your ship? You could have just invited a murderer aboard!"
Kant laughed, and took a step back from the ship. His eyes glossed over it again as he stuck his hands in his coat pockets. "I never considered freelancing." he muttered, mostly to himself. He bit his lip, a habit he had for any time he was seriously thinking something over. Eventually he spoke again, removing his hands from his pockets and turning to walk down the dock.
"If you'll allow me to go home first, and are here when I return, I will come along. This town has been much too boring of late, and I have things I must do." Kant said, walking off the docks without so much as waiting for Sumaru's answer. The answer would be evident upon Kant's return to the docks. He had to go home and get some things before he could travel, and he was hardly willing to travel with anyone impatient.

(short post time ) Sumaru simply smiles and nods to Kant as he leaves the fortress then returns to sitting at the fully formed mast and resumes flicking seeds into his mouth as he awaits kants return. He sits there with his thoughts of Kant's words. That he was aware it was a bold move on Sumarus part but then again the opposite could of been true, being he could of invited someone onboard that needed looked after. Then again sumaru wasnt an easy one to kill. The wood of the boat would inform him of danger, but he felt no ill intentions from the man [Sumaru sits awaiting Kants return]

Kura's sprint had slowed down to a light jog and then to a walk. He looked over his shoulder and down the dock's walkway, feeling relatively at ease that no one was following him. Kura's dark brown hair fell right above his brows as he took a moment to catch his breathe. " Ditch em' , that was easy enough. " He crossed his arms over his chest, his giant transparent blade clinking against the metal buckle on his back. " Guess I'll just catch Sour Brooks next time.
For some odd reason Kura felt the need to look behind him. It was an odd feeling, one that only hit him rarely. " Hmmm... " His head looked over his shoulder at a man with blonde hair and he sat on some contraption of sorts, or maybe it was boat. Either way it had caught the kid in Kura and grasped him. " WOAH !! That's so awesomely big. Is it yours guy ? "

(OOC: My apologies i didnt see this ) Sumaru's yellow eyes almost snap as they fix uppon this guy, he was slightly puzzeled as he was anticipating the gargantuan frame of Kant to return. He looks at this kid once again trapped in the middle of consuming a wide asortment of seeds. As with his previous visitor he begins to fondel the seed currently between his index finger and his thumb. He speeks to the guy who had just been reduced to a child like state and asked Sumaru a question. With his hair flowing gently in the wind his eyebrow raises and his lips move "ummm do ya meen my ship?" he says answering the question with a question. Still slightly puzzeled and not having much motivation to move he simply says "come aboard if ya like, i dont mind"

Kura lifted his left hand over his brows to look up at the ship and all of its glory. " I can come aboard ? Really ? " He questioned the man. If he had to think about it, all of it had worked out in his favor. He could avoid the marines and catch a ride on a pirate's ship, or atleast that was what the guy had looked like. Kura lifted his hand to his chin. " If the guy is a pirate then he could by all means be a high bounty.... Then again he could be low too. Hmmm ? I don't like dealing with low bounties anymore....... "
His thoughts suddenly drifted off as he felt that he was wasting the man's time. With a shrug of his shoulders Kura with one light step, leaped off the ground onto the man's make-shift ship. Ontop of his capabilities to lift the giant blade on his back, the leap would probably also reveal the strength in his legs and possibly the potential in his body. " Dude, what is this made of ? "

Sumaru quite surprised by the question about what his humble boat was made of, but never the less a small smile curls uppon his lips and to humour the guy he simply says "well its made of what most vessels are made of... ys know wood and plants", not being able to hold it in any longer he lets out a laugh. Not due to the question but as he had never been asked such a thing before.
He leans forward and places his chin in his hand as his elbow rests uppon his knee, "ya arnt a pirate are ya? for to be frank i couldnt be bothered with any trying to steal my boat today... not that theyd get far" he says and grumbled the last bit so it was barly audible. but then the guys movements and choise of weapon strike his interest " that is a rather intresting weapon ya got there? well since i cant place your face with a bounty i supose i should introduce myself" he says.
At this pointhis yellow eyes lock uppon the guy as though he is staring into his very being, also the boat now would give the fealing that it is alive even though this was simply Sumaru's intrest showing in the wood slightly. "Well i am Sumaru Shokubutsu, otherwise known as yellow eye... for obvious reasons"he says as he points to his eyes with a free hand and laughs, at this point the boat would feel like a boat again rather than feeling like it is alive

Kura placed his fist on his hips as he let the breeze of the sea rustle his wavy dark brown locks. " This wind feels GREAT ! " he exclaimed, raising both his fist into the air and standing to his tippy-toes. As the soles of his boots fell back atop of the ship, Kura got the feeling that it wasn't simply made of wood and plants. Something about it was eerie, though not entirely spine chilling. He looked down at the ships' surface before shrugging his shoulders at his own thoughts and turning to face the man before him.
" Hm ? " Kura questioned before raising his hand to the back of his head and rubbing its slowly in thought. His right eye closed and his head leaned to the side slightly as a hum escaped him. He turned towards the yellow-themed man and took a step forward before finally answering. " No i'm not a pirate, I was actually wondering the same of you. And as for the weapon, well... " he paused, allowing a certain passion in his eyes to awaken and reveal the crimson vibrancy in them. " If you want to get to know Depore, you'll just have to face me in combat. " he joked, though his voice seemed truly challenging.
Once Kura had answered the man's question, he could feel the eeriness in the ship return, though this time he was sure he could feel something from it. Something, that wasn't entirely welcoming. A unsure hum came from Kura again while his lids lowered slightly and his gaze returned to its normal blood red hue. Taking a few steps towards him, Kura extended his hand and ignored the now dead feeling from the ship. " Nice to meet you Sumaru, you can call me Kura. " he replied with smile.
