Gender: Male
Race: Human

Physical Description:
Rogan is a lanky young adult, standing at 5’11 and weighing in at 155 lbs. He is muscular but clearly he is not someone who focuses on bulk. Rogan’s physique could be described as athletic, but almost deceivingly so, because his muscle mass is primarily lean, giving a less-than-fearsome physical appearance. The only muscle region that doesn’t hold true to this is his abdomen, sculpted to perfection, showing the strongest part of him is most definitely his core. His legs, like most of his body are also lean, thus making him quite flexible and acrobatic by nature which attributes to his ability in combat.
Rogan’s hair is red-orange, visibly resembling a small flame. It is a mid-short length, falling just below his nose when he lets it. When he lets his hair down it also parts slightly to reveal his left eye but it will hang freely over his right. In the back his hair will lay down to the bottom of his neck and it spikes a bit at the top. In general his hair is messy, most would think it’s because Rogan does not care for his appearance but in reality he prefers the messier look as it makes him look more “badass” as he phrases it.
His eyes are a piercing green, a feature that can make any appearance threatening but it works so smoothly as a contrast to his red hair and pale complexion. His softer features make the green pop even more-so than expected. Whenever he needs to, Rogan will intensify his gaze, giving the illusion as if he could cut through a person just with a look. Even though he clearly wasn’t born with one, Rogan always sports an eye-patch over his right eye. He never takes it off in front of people, only when completely alone he may remove it for the simple purpose of cleaning it. In all seriousness Rogan wears his eye-patch for a couple reasons: One being an eye-patch looks “badass”, the other because concealing his eye stops light from getting to it, leaving it always used to the darkness. Having an eye used to the darkness gives him the ability to see very clearly in the dark in the situation of being attacked without the need for his eye to adjust itself.
On a less hostile note Rogan is shown to be quite an attractive male. One could argue that it is strictly because of his enticing appearance, accenting the 'danger' factor into his good looks but it could also be because of his own indifference, making him desirable to the opposite sex. Even without bringing his personality into it Rogan is a good-looking man that most girls would notice as a "hot guy" but his own demeanor keeps him from coming off as a pretty boy. In actuality his personality would be the only thing that would keep him from being thrown into that bunch just because he does like to dress in an assortment of different outfits and styles.
Clothing:
Rogan is not the type of Captain that limits himself to only one outfit. He has a varying wardrobe but there are definitely some arrangements that he favors and therefore wears more than others. In one of his more basic favourite outfits, Rogan wears a light-grey dressy shirt. It is a little less high-class than that of a marine or successful businessman and he actually purposely exposed the shirt to some whether influences to achieve a working-class appeal. Over top of that dress shirt he sports a black jacket, a little form-fitting, similar to the dress shirt. The collar of the dress shirt folds over the jacket collar, all in all a comfortable torso assortment. For his bottoms Rogan wears an olive-hazel pant, a little tighter than most pants but on his lanky body they fit comfortably and they stretch, perfect for movement. For his shoes he wears some personalized pirate boots, semi-done up, only enough to support his ankles. The boots are black and look a little dressy but are functional when there is a need for combat.
*With every outfit there is a possibility that he may or may not wear a headband*

Personality
Rogan, more than most else, can be described as a man of ambition. He is not only determined to accomplish his goals but is one to set his goals as high as he possibly can. At the moment, the young pirate's sites are set quite high; it is his goal to find the legendary One Piece and become the next Pirate King. With that ambition comes a gritty personality, an indomitable will. Rogan is a very determined person as would be expected of someone who intends to become the most wanted man of his time. With his own ambitions taken very seriously as realistic goals he can't help but admire and appreciate those who have their own aspirations. When choosing members for his own crew, the Crimson Captain takes the goals of a crewman very seriously, only taking on those who show a true desire to achieve greatness.
As a Captain he is dominant, a stern but fair commander, not expecting anything less and a little more than his crew can give (including himself). This could be seen as just being unappreciative but most who spend time with the crew see it as way to push everyone to the next level, be ready for the next challenge to face. He is not one timid to use foul language when it is the right moment and sometimes comes off as a bit sharp and sarcastic. His sarcasm can both be well and ill-timed, depends on the day.
Rogan is a perceptive person, a natural observer that makes mental notes and predictions about different people's behaviors and actions. It would make sense that this natural affinity of perception is what makes the pirate so quickly proficient in the art of Kenbunshoku Haki. Even though he is observant he still remains to be very subtle about it, never giving away too much of what he knows or sees.
In a social setting Rogan comes off as calm and indifferent, someone who likes to play with words and entertains with speculating many outlandish ideas. He likes to get people riled up and does so effectively, most notably in a battle situation. Rogan's indifferent presence against an enemy is something that has allowed him to let the opponent beat himself before Rogan is even forced to seriously raise his own blade. His play of emotions is also what makes him a suitable captain, someone that can inspire courage and strength in his crew.
As a win-win trade off, Rogan's own skill in angering his enemy lets him keep his own composure calm and collected in most possible situations. It is very difficult to anger Rogan in a direct sort because he cares very little of what his opposition thinks as he will do well to instill fear into them in due time. That being said the only way to legitimately piss him off is by needlessly hurting or damaging those he is responsible for (his crew, a 'little' man in a situation). If one were to accomplish this they would soon learn what it is like to face the full wrath of the Crimson Captain. Even while angry though Rogan isn't very expressive about it, the only thing visibly changing is the intensity in his eyes, looking almost evil in their glare.
With his crew and friends the young Captain is able to be a little loose, showing a fun side with his mates. The spoils of alcohol, good food, and wealth always promised a great time. On top of that Rogan is a little bit of a womanizer. Not enough to objectify women but he has a 'player' side. His smooth words and indifferent attitude makes him seem desirable but he only utilizes his tools so he can have a bit of fun every once in a while.
Likes: Combat, Wealth, The site of his blood, Adventure, Inspiration, Power, Puzzles, Chess, Piracy, Nakama, Freedom, Danger, Alcohol, Strong Rivals, Swords.

History
Ninta D. Rogan was born on Dawn Island, a humble place to grow up living, a young child in the vast stretches of East Blue. He lived with his father Ninta D. Soku and his mother Ninta Mina (her surname was Sakusa). His parents overall gave him a good childhood. Yes they did live with some hardships, as there were never many students to teach in Soku's Swords Craft School. They always got by though; they were never at the point of being broke, just got close once or twice. Until Rogan reached the age of six or seven he was rather close to his mother, always helping her with things around the house as best as he could even though he did enjoy getting himself into a bit of mischief.
Around a certain time, just near his seventh birthday he took a great interest in the idea of of going to work with his dad. Since he was so persistent with the idea he was allowed to come along. That first day where Rogan got to see what his father did up-close was the day a tradition was made. Even though the building wasn't crowded, there were still ten to fifteen students that first day. The clashing of blades and quick movements drew Rogan’s attention in. It took a couple more years if pestering and coming with his dad to work every other day before he was permitted to join in on the class. His first few classes were a pitiful site to say the least. His father was also pretty hard on him, giving no sense of favouritism. Time passed and Rogan, now ten years old was determined to be skilled enough to not be the most behind but there was still something that held him back behind the others. It was actually a bit of the opposite, he was catching up to the pack but his progression seemed to be so slow in his eyes that he didn’t notice.
Just after he turned eleven, Rogan had finally worked hard enough and proven himself a worthy candidate to learn a secret skill his father intended to teach him. It was at this moment that Rogan understood how proud his dad was of him. The skill he was taught is what is known as Kenbunshoku Haki: The Colour of Observation. This invaluable art opened Rogan’s world to new possibilities. Of course his mastery at the beginning was a very basic level but he proved to be quite gifted with it, learning at a fast rate. Unfortunately there was little more his father could teach as one day the island was attacked by marines. It seemed weird to think of marines attacking the area but the reason soon came to be that they were after a rogue pirate from South Blue, there was some sort of tip that he was apparently spotted on the island. Rogan was the most shocked to learn that their target was a member of one of the most ruthless crews in the history of South Blue pirates. What shocked him most was the man they were after was his father.
There was definitely some resistance but they got Ninta D. Soku to come with them in exchange for not harming Rogan and his mother. Rogan felt nothing but resentment toward the man putting his father in shackles, his life as he knew it was being robbed before him but there was nothing he could do to stop it. Rogan was torn up for days until word reached the island that his father was to be imprisoned until he revealed the locations of the rest of the remaining crew and eventually he would be publicly executed in Louge Town. This brought about anger, something overwhelming that he could only escape from while he was by himself, training his sword and his mind. His only goal in life at this point was to become strong enough so he could free his father from prison.
A couple more years passed and Rogan learned that his mother had always known of his dad’s pirate origins, that he was a master at sea and a freer man than any she’d known. This brought an inspiration and eventuall Rogan decided it was time for him to leave home and go after his father. He left his mother a note before he stowed away on a merchant’s ship, she would be alright though. Plus Rogan planned to return once he freed his father.
After docking at a couple locations Rogan was discovered. He was quickly kicked out and he had t make due by stowing away once more, only on a pirate ship. He was discovered a bit quicker than last time but he was able to negotiate that he'd earn his keep, along with offering an extra blade if attacked on the sea. They had eventually made it to Louge after another year, the captain said they would only be staying for a couple days though. Rogan's first step on this island marked a whole new journey for him; he had no intention of returning to that ship.
On Louge he met another young traveler like him. It didn't take long for them to introduce themselves to each other and get into a nice little scrap. This other boy, Rogan grew to know as Saul Moriah, the Pika Pika user. During that little fight they had, Saul showed to be quite powerful at his age, definitely more powerful than Rogan. His skill set was of a different sort, being very intense in raw power in contrast to Rogan's skilled fighting components. They became friends, Saul even helped Rogan look for his dad, saying he hated the marines anyways.
It was very heart-wrenching to discover Ninta D. Soku's fate. He was executed a year ago on account that he wouldn't abandon his comrades to be killed anyways. Rogan was conflicted, proud of his father's will power but so depressed that his dad was gone. He wandered the town for a week, hearing of many things coming from the underground areas. Saul was there as well, but they both heard talk of the fabled One Piece. Apparently it was the thing that all pirates craved, what all the elites are after, the thing so monumentally famous that being the one to discover it will earn them the title of Pirate King. The legendary spoils of Gol D. Roger.
It wasn't hard to figure out that must have been what Rogan's dad was after, to become the crew of the next Pirate King but he abandoned that dream for a new one he had with Rogan's mom. Months passed and Rogan came to the point where he could finally move on from his mourning, it was time to live a life that would do his father's memory justice, the life of a true pirate.
Another year went by and both him and Saul finally found a strong pirate crew and captain to join, hearing they were going to try and make it through the Grand Line. From the very beginning he and Saul made a pact to look out for each other on this journey, it promised to be perilous. For Rogan's personality though, the thought of danger would only bring a mischievous smile. The line tested Rogan in ways he never imagined. He was not one expected to take on any of the enemies that suggested to be at an elite level but he did fight his fair share of strong enemies, at least by his standards at the time.
Even though he did not openly challenge men and opponents way out of his league like Saul tried to do, Rogan got his own reputation as the Crimson Blade. His specific abilities allowed him to rarely get in a position that he could lose; he was known for always leaving the Crimson mark of blood etched in his opponents' skin.
By the time they got back from the line, Rogan and his friend were just shy of seventeen. As a comrade's favor, the captain was willing to dock at Dawn Island for just a day. Returning to his home, he now wore an eye-patch but aside from that he looked similar, only aged a bit. He made it to his and had a touching reunion with his mom. Even though it was a short visit it felt like a lot has been said. Upon leaving the island Rogan took his father's rapier and a sizable inheritance his father left behind for him.
They made it back to Louge and this is when Rogan parted ways with the crew he had been through so much with, and Saul went along with him. They had spent the inheritance money on a ship, a Jolly Roger, and some sails/ship supplies. Rogan finally initiated his motion to become a pirate captain, taking on the persona of Crimson Captain Rogan. While travelling to different places in East Blue Rogan's only permanent companion had been Saul but they were a fierce pair, already spreading the name of the "Crimson Pirates" even though they had yet to establish a real crew.
On a small island, a little out of the way from the East Blue circuit, Rogan met a vendor of strange items, including a fruit. On first glance Saul knew what it was, even as the vendor tried to sell it to Rogan. After being explained that it was a Devil Fruit like Saul's Pika Pika the Crimson Captain wanted it, even if it meant sacrificing his swimming ability and not even the vendor knew what fruit it was.
Rogan paid a bit for it and after he and Saul moved on he ate it, finding it out to be the Chi Chi no Mi (Blood-Blood Fruit). He quickly intended to hone these skills as they would do wonders for his fighting ability and give him ample power to accomplish his dreams. His training was a little slow moving as he and Saul weren't currently in a great amount of trouble so he had few places to test it out in real experiences.
Now the Crimson Captain Rogan is docked in Louge town, hoping gain a couple more members in his crew before shipping out to brave the Grand Line for the first time as a captain and finally be on his crew's own search for the legendary One Piece.
Extra Information
Extra Clothing: Rogan has many different outfits, even he wouldn't be able to list them all. Some examples of his arrangements are below
Extra Weapons: Rogan carries a single weapon but it is not hidden. He wields his father's rapier, being trained in the fine arts of swordsmanship himself. He has yet to be a master of the craft though, needing to fine tune his skills and grow as a sword-fighter long before being able to carve his name among the most accomplished of swordsmen.
The sword does not have the traditional straight blade of a rapier, being a custom-made sword to his father's preference. It is made out of finely crafted hard steel and the intricacies in the handle have no parallel that Rogan has seen yet. The handle his a little big as a rapier, giving an inch of extra hand room for Rogan to utilize (his father was a bigger man than he is). The full length of the sword is 4'5" and it is a beautiful creation, only one of its kind.
Relationships: Saul (Best friend/Second-in-Command)

General Devil's Fruit
Name: Chi Chi no Mi (Blood-Blood Fruit)
Type: Paramecia
Description:
Name: Haki
Type: Kenbunshoku
Description:
Being in tune with the functions of people around him, Rogan's Kenbunshoku Haki is at quite a proficient level. He is able to read any person within his 25 meter radius range. Also if he wants a greater range of ability, Rogan can sacrifice his total perception to only 10 specific people but he can read those 10 people even in a 35 meter radius. The gift of this Haki form allows the user to be sensitive and knowledgeable of the whereabouts of all people within their specific level of range (skill in this Haki is dependent on a combination of talent and training). In addition to sensing others' locations the user is also adept in conceiving a sense of premonition, knowing the movements of those being observed moments before they make them. There are limits to this, being the movements have to be voluntary or intended; a completely random act can’t be predicted, specifically because the user is reading the people, not the area in general. This also means that a reflected or redirected attack can’t be predicted by him either unless there is completely knowledgeable intent by the person making the attack.

Rogan stood in the bar, popping in to catch the second round of Saul’s fight, drawing little attention when he entered only because of his stand-out red hair. He wasn't too pleased about the dank smell but he felt obligated to support his buddy, they were both new to piracy so they made a pact to watch each other’s backs through the Grand Line. It seemed to be quite an even bout; Rogan even noticed that his friend was not the only one bearing the black energy technique known as Busoshoku Haki, ‘Interesting, even using his fruit isn’t a guarantee win now.’ The other man was almost in a dominating position, throwing in blows left and right. At one moment Rogan was almost worried but a nice punch from Saul sent his opponent reeling, ‘Man, this one’s rather close, at least he still has the Pika Pika up his sleeve.’
The fight didn’t last much longer, it was obvious Saul was reaching his limits in straight boxing but this was the point where he finally revealed his ace in the whole. A flash of light from his body and the other man was down, almost to be described as lifeless. The bar went silent for a moment, caught off-guard before the roaring started and Saul was announced as the winner. Another flash happened, one uncalled for in Rogan’s eyes but after that flash happened, Saul’s competition lay dead on the floor with a hole in his head.
A needless death always left a sour taste in Rogan's mouth but he would not stop his friend from doing as he wished. It's not like a murder was a way to sully the reputation of a pirate anyways. Saul walked over, clearly exhausted only saying a few words.
"Common. Let's get outta this dump."
"Alright... He almost had you there, thought I would have to come in after you." Rogan's toying words were paired with a smile, he followed Saul out the door, almost walking lazily in even though he was happy to leave the place. He walked in stride with his labored friend, right hand resting on the handle of his rapier. He was just about to say something to Saul but was interrupted by the sound of many footsteps closing in behind.
"HEY YOU, SAUL! GET BACK HERE!"
"Oh no Saul, it looks like the angry mob is coming. This one is all on you." Even as they felt on their heels Rogan could hear his companion's heavy breathing, he wasn't fit to fight by any means. Knowing what would come next merely made Rogan sigh and casually turn to stop, facing the men he assumed to be out for revenge for their pub fighter. There were about twenty of them but that only brought a smirk to this young pirate's lips, "Hey, you guys. If you are angry about your friend you might as well turn back, my partner is unfit to fight at the moment." His head was slightly bowed, ominously looking to the ground while his smirk still held.
"WE DON'T CARE! WE WANT HIS HEAD! DON'T GET IN OUR WAY!" With the scream the rest of the crowd roared, just getting within ten meters of Rogan, the only one standing in the way of their target. Some of them carried weapons of a crude make, others had nothing but clenched fists but all had the intention of causing harm. It mattered little to Rogan though, they were well within range of his radar..
"Hmm, looks like you'd rather throw your lives away than mourn the passing of your friend," one of the crowd threw a rock as the front people were nearly in weapon's reach. Rogan merely kept his gaze downward, tilted his head to the left and the rock flew by. A fraction of a second after that and Rogan moved, acting before anyone would see a reason to. He launched forward, crossing his hand over and pulling his rapier free from its holder. Once he planted his landing, Rogan's sword was through the lead man's hand. The expected cry was heard, reverberating off the buildings on either side of the road but Rogan would not sit their idly listening to it. He pulled his blade out of the man's hand and spun around to avoid a punch that looked to have been aimed at his blind-side. A few men with bladed weapons made attempts to surround him in a two-pronged attack. A semi-parry with his own blade and a calculated dodge had the men cutting into each other and Rogan on to the next angry challenger.
The whole scene turned into a massacre, the men could not touch him for an unknown reason. Rogan openly smiled as he knew they were getting confused. In reality the only other person who would know what was going on was Saul. Rogan was, in fact, using Kenbunshoku Haki. This ability would be unknown by the likes of these men and none of them would have the skill or speed to best his perceptions and predictions.
There were few men, now, without a souvenir of blood gifted to them by Rogan personally. Only a few more stood, still intent on coming at him, the closest one even a deep gash along his right forearm, "What are you doing? I could kill you, you know." His words didn't seem to factor for the stubborn souls though, they were going to go for their target even if it killed them, 'I can't say I don't admire their spirit though, a strong will makes a strong man.' Even in his admiration Rogan would not let them get to Saul. He would end this once and for all. The young pirate dashed, twisted, lunged, ducked, rolled, spun, and slashed. His violent but elegant display was similar to that of a fencer and in little time his opponents were right bloody and panting on the ground. Rogan merely pulled out a rag to wipe his blade clean and dropped it as he turned to walk away. Not one man that lay on the ground was dead, but each had something to remember the young lad by for years to come, one man was unlucky enough to have lost an eye.
"Good by guys, you fought poorly but bravely. Tell stories about me for years to come; the legend of Rogan the Crimson Blade."

Special Skills
General Devil's Fruit
Name: Chi Chi no Mi (Blood-Blood Fruit)
Type: Paramecia
Description:
Level 1 – Eaten Fruit
Rogan has the ability to manipulate his blood as an extension of his body of his own free will. His initial level of ability is limited to the extent of control complications, being at the starting level of his power only allows his prowess to go so far. His abilities, more specifically, are being able to shape, bend, or control his own exposed blood that is in contact with his body. This ability could be used to create weapons coming out of the exposed wound, clot his own blood, and harden/sharpen it to a maximum consistency of weaker Iron (Up to a rating of 4 on the hardness classification scale). The weapons aren’t of any specific form of creation unless stated, being spikes and blades primarily because the blood must still be physically touching Rogan in some way (the size of the weapons depends on the amount of blood used). Also with this ability, Rogan can concentrate minerals in his blood to certain areas giving him different potential advantages in strength or speed depending on his method of use. A natural passive is that he can flush out toxins that find their way to his blood, since the fruit gives his blood a natural system.

Level 2 – The Bloody Prospect
(Current Level)
Rogan's blood control increases, allowing him to manipulate his own blood even while it is not touching him as long as at least a portion of the controlled blood is within a 5 meter radius of him. The weapons he is able to create are hardly different from earlier, maybe shaped in a more sophisticated matter. His manipulation also allows him to now secrete his own blood through the pores of his skin so he now does not need to cut himself or rely on getting wounded to utilize his external blood techniques. The limits of hardness Rogan can condense is now surpass even iron (able to achieve a 6 on the hardness classification scale). There is no change to his ability to concentrate the minerals, maintaining a constant. A passive ability gained from this level of mastery of his fruit is that Rogan’s blood naturally replicates and regenerates as he loses it. In basic terms, his body creates blood to replace whatever blood he loses so he always maintains a constant amount of blood.

Level 3 – Prodigal Blood User
(Will be achieved with A-rank or 3 separate 2000 word training topics)
The range of Rogan’s ability to control his blood increases, giving his manipulation range only requiring a portion of the blood he controls to be within a 15 meter radius of him. At this point the weapons created by Rogan with the blood can have a greater complexity (significant inner-workings, hidden blade components, curb of the century add-ons). His blood concentration ability increases, allowing full-body circulatory technical options. The hardness potential of his blood is equivalent to an 8 on the hardness scale (as hard as good-quality steel or emerald). A new ability gained with this level is the access to revitalize Rogan, absorbing the nutrients in the blood that has left his body. He has to regain physical contact to gain the nutrients to supply the energy but once contact made he will slowly drain the blood of its energy properties. After draining the blood’s properties he can still manipulate it but the only use he can make of it is hardening the empty liquid, unable to clot, concentrate, or perform any of his other usual skills with it. Rogan’s last ability he acquires at this level is the control to change his blood type at will as long as the blood is still in contact with his body. A detached portion of blood won’t change its type along with him.

Level 4 – Blood King
(Will be achieved with Z-rank or 3 separate 4000 word training topics)
This is the final level of the Chi Chi no Mi, only attainable with a full mastery of all Rogan’s blood abilities. The range of blood is increased to manipulating it as long as he can visually identify it as blood in his range of vision. His limits with hardness are all but diminished, able to reach a 10 on the hardness scale (the equivalent to diamond). Now he can accelerate the natural replication of his blood to create a very large supply of usable ammunition for his manipulation techniques very quickly. A fine-tuned new skill is the control over his blood’s temperature. Rogan can now secrete the blood through flesh other than his own. This is not to say he can control the blood of others but he can allow his own blood to seep through their skin if it is on their body for any reason. The final ability achievable by total blood mastery is he can create focused orbs/pockets of blood that are heavily condensed with the mineral and metallic blood qualities. By doing this they work as explosive mines, only needing kinetic energy to be added to detonate them.

Name: Haki
Type: Kenbunshoku
Description:
(Current Level)
Name: Swordsmanship
Type: Fencing/Traditional
Description:
(Current Level)
Rogan is not a master swordsman, only being taught by his father for a couple years before he died. His skill is a bit basic but he has good form and a quick hand, considered to be among an average-level fencer. In battle he looks as if his skill extends to a high-level ability but that is only due to the aid of his Haki. With the sword he is also limited, so far unable to use any sort of special techniques with a blade and is not experienced enough at this point to teach himself that ability. He can increase his form, speed, and strength with training but to be an accomplished sword-fighter he would need some sort of instruction to get to the next level of abilities.
